YT-8273 soldering iron in a traditional casing with resistance heating element powered directly from the mains socket. The simplicity of construction makes the device almost failure-free, and with proper care of the soldering tip, the device will serve for many years. The power of the heater is sufficient to properly solder two copper wires, the basic electronics in the technology of translucent assembly or works related to the connection of stained glass elements, jewellery using the Tiffany method. The high-quality coated copper tip ensures faster accumulation and release of heat than standard tips, and the touch-friendly two-component handle with an anti-slip element additionally improves safety in use.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE TIP

The tips of YATO soldering irons are covered with a material which reduces oxidation of the tip. Long-term heating and mechanical damage gradually degrade the protective layer, and the tip quickly oxidises, which results in problems with melting the solder. Instead of melting and holding on to the soldering tip, the tin peels off and falls off. A proven way to take care of the tip is to tin it. When you first heat up the soldering iron, put a little tin on the tip of the soldering iron and remove the excess, e.g. with brass shavings. The resulting layer of tin protects against oxidation. It is good practice to tin the tip of the soldering iron every time after finishing work.

NOTE

Soldering irons supplied directly from the mains socket should have a plug with earthing pin and should be supplied from a socket with earthing connection. If the metal casing of the heater is not earthed, there is a risk of electrocution, which in the best case will result in burns. All Yato brand soldering irons have a grounded plug which is connected to the metal housing of the heater.
